Judge Melinda Crouch is a North Carolina native and has served as a District Court Judge for New Hanover and Pender Counties since 2007. She is committed to upholding the law with fairness, integrity, and impartiality—approaching every case with careful consideration, sound judgment, and the measured temperament our community expects from its judiciary.

A Career Dedicated to Justice
District Court Judge
Presiding primarily in Family Court in New Hanover County, hearing custody, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution matters. Also assigned to Juvenile Court in Pender County, hearing abuse, neglect, and dependency cases.
Additional District Court Assignments
When not assigned to Family or Juvenile Court, Judge Crouch may be assigned to Domestic Violence, Criminal, Civil Court, and mental commitment matters—bringing consistent judgment across a wide range of cases.
Attorney in Wilmington
Licensed in North and South Carolina since 1984, Judge Crouch practiced law in Wilmington for more than two decades before her appointment to the bench.
